Cyclone Relief

After CAT 5 cyclone “Tomas” pounded the island of Vanua Levu, Fiji this this past March, kindergardeners at Kasavu Primary School were left without a building.  We are currently in the process of bringing awareness of the need to anyone interested in helping to rebuild.  After visiting the school in June, we discovered the school, as well as the children, have many additional needs.  The school itself is in need of many everyday items to help better educate the children.  Computers, printers/copiers, additional text books, reading books, etc. are just to name a few.  As of right now the children are being educated without these tools that we in America so easily take for granted.  Most importantly, the children of Kasavu Primary School do not have much hope after the 8th grade due to families lacking the funds to send their children to Secondary School (high school).  Therefore, they are left to fend for themselves.  Many of the young girls end up getting pregnant with multiple children, having miscarriages and commonly from incestuous relationships.  As for the boys, well they find themselves either dealing in marijuana, unemployed for many years with multiple children from various girls, spearing fish or playing touch rugby.  Neither of which pay to participate.

World Covenant Ministries is committed to bringing change in the lives of these children and looking for individuals, organizations and businesses to partner with to give the children of Kasavu  an opportunity to stay in school, get a worthy education, a chance to go to college and ultimately teach the importance of giving back to your community.  We will do this by building a Secondary School on the same property as Kasavu Primary and support the school advisors with the necessary equipment and supplies to make Dreaming become a Reality.
